Overview
DeepSeek-Coder-V2 was continued-pretrained from DeepSeek-V2 on an additional 6 trillion tokens, with a heavy focus on code and math. When it launched, it was the first open model to rival GPT-4 Turbo on standard code benchmarks. It expanded language coverage from 86 to 338 programming languages and context from 16K to 128K tokens.
Strengths
- MoE design: frontier-level quality with only 21B active parameters per token
- Very broad programming language coverage
- Strong math reasoning alongside code
- 128K context window
